Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform routine and special laboratory assays across chemistry, hematology, immunology, bacteriology and microscopy
• Process patient specimens accurately and efficiently to produce reliable diagnostic data
• Calibrate, operate and perform preventive maintenance on laboratory instruments according to schedule
• Execute quality control procedures and document results to ensure test accuracy and compliance
• Troubleshoot instrument issues and escalate or resolve problems to minimize downtime
• Communicate findings clearly with the clinical team and document work in the laboratory information system
• Follow established safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized workspace in a high-altitude environment

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (required)
• ASCP-MLT (American Society for Clinical Pathology - Medical Laboratory Technician) certification (required)
• Successful completion of a supervised one-year clinical internship (required)
• Experience performing clinical laboratory assays across multiple sections (preferred)
• Familiarity with EPIC is preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred
• Ability to safely perform duties at moderate/high elevation (around 8,000 feet)

Education

• Associate degree in Medical Laboratory Technology

Knowledge & Skills

• Specimen processing and proper handling techniques
• Clinical chemistry, hematology, immunology and bacteriology testing
• Microscopy for diagnostic assays
• Laboratory instrument calibration and preventive maintenance
• Quality control principles and documentation
• Comfort using laboratory information systems (EPIC experience preferred)
• Strong attention to detail, troubleshooting and time management skills
