Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert end-of-life nursing care to patients in an inpatient hospice setting
• Perform thorough patient assessments and develop individualized symptom management plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient responses
• Educate and coach families and caregivers to build confidence in care at the bedside
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure holistic physical, emotional and spiritual support
• Document patient care accurately in the medical record and communicate changes clearly
• Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to urgent clinical needs

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) — appropriate active licensure expected for practice
• Minimum of 2 years acute care experience (medical/surgical, ICU, ER or similar) — hospice experience preferred
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach
• Comfort with end-of-life care, symptom management, and family-centered support
• Willingness to work night shifts, weekends, holidays and participate in on-call rotation

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in patient assessment and critical thinking for complex symptom management
• Skilled in end-of-life care and compassionate family support
• Clear, empathetic communication with patients, families and team members
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary hospice team
• Familiarity with medication administration, pain and symptom protocols, and basic charting
