Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (3 shifts per week, 36 hours): 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM; 11:00 AM - 11:30 PM; 1:00 PM - 1:30 AM; 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM. Variable days including weekends; schedule may change based on census. No on-call required.
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and triage patients quickly and accurately in a fast-paced emergency setting
- Deliver high-quality nursing care including medication administration, IV management, and wound care
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and ancillary staff to coordinate timely patient care
- Provide leadership when functioning as charge nurse to maintain safe, smooth ED operations
- Precept and mentor newer staff to support professional growth and strong team performance
- Document patient care comprehensively and communicate handoffs clearly
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Maine (required)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- PALS certification preferred
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- Preceptor experience preferred
- Comfort working variable and rotating 12-hour shifts, including nights and weekends
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
- Experience with acute and critical patient care in the ED
- Excellent IV skills, medication administration, and documentation
- Effective communication and teamwork in high-pressure situations
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, and adapt to changing census
