Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing across hematology, chemistry, special chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology, urinalysis and coagulation
• Manually enter verified results into the LIS when required, ensuring accuracy and traceability
• Execute routine and special laboratory procedures in accordance with physician orders and hospital policies
• Perform and document quality control, participate in QC evaluations, and maintain records to ensure test reliability
• Troubleshoot and perform routine maintenance on laboratory instruments to minimize downtime
• Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy with patient-centered care and proper labeling
• Collaborate with clinical teams to provide timely and actionable laboratory results that impact patient care
• Adhere to safety, regulatory and infection control protocols to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current MLT/MLS/MT certification or equivalent from an accredited program (ASCP or equivalent preferred)
• State licensure as required for Colorado or eligibility to obtain licensure prior to start
• Demonstrated experience in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, blood bank, serology and urinalysis
• Proven ability to perform phlebotomy and specimen handling with attention to detail
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting
• Comfort and competence with LIS systems and manual result entry (this position has LIS manual entry authority)
• Ability to work night shifts (Monday-Thursday, 8:00 PM - 6:00 AM) and function independently in a small hospital setting
• Strong commitment to quality control, documentation and teamwork

Education

• Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science or related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred
