Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients’ functional abilities and develop individualized occupational therapy plans
• Deliver purposeful therapeutic interventions to improve daily living skills and independence
• Document progress and clinical findings accurately and timely in the patient record
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy colleagues, and families to support care goals
• Provide patient and family education to promote safe transitions and discharge success
• Recommend adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to enhance function
• Participate in interdisciplinary care planning and quality improvement activities

Qualifications

• Current Texas Occupational Therapist license (OTR/L) or eligible to obtain one
• Entry-level to experienced clinicians welcome — enthusiasm and strong clinical judgment required
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Comfortable documenting in electronic health records and following facility protocols
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to partner with patients and staff

Education

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy (entry-level OT degree)
• Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program and eligibility for licensure

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in OT assessments and treatment planning for adult/geriatric populations
• Experience with ADL/IADL retraining, adaptive equipment, and mobility interventions
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively within a busy facility
• Solid documentation practices and familiarity with therapy outcome measurement
• Collaborative mindset and effective patient/family education techniques
