Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the ER team as the charge nurse during night shift, ensuring smooth operations
• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients across acuity levels
• Triage, assess, and prioritize patient care needs in a fast-paced environment
• Supervise and mentor bedside staff, offering direction and support during critical situations
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and ancillary departments to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with hospital policies
• Manage patient flow, bed assignments, and resource allocation during the shift
• Serve as a patient advocate and communicate effectively with families and care teams

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Proven Charge Nurse experience in an emergency department setting
• Comfortable and committed to working night shifts
• Proof of a negative TB screen within 12 months of contract start date

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency nursing skills and triage expertise
• Leadership and shift-management abilities
• Excellent critical thinking and rapid decision-making under pressure
• Clear, calm communication with multidisciplinary teams and patient families
• Competence in electronic health record documentation and shift handoffs
• Ability to prioritize multiple high-acuity patients and coordinate resources
