Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams in Abdomen, Vascular and OB/GYN modalities
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure image quality and safety
• Accurately document findings in the medical record and communicate results to the care team
• Work independently to triage, prioritize, and manage your daily caseload
• Practice patient-centered care: explain procedures, ensure comfort, and maintain privacy
• Follow facility protocols for infection control, quality assurance, and equipment calibration
• Collaborate with radiologists and other clinicians to support timely patient care

Qualifications

• ARDMS registries required: Abdominal (General), Vascular and OB/GYN — double registered
• Current state licensure as required for sonographers in Hawaii (or ability to obtain)
• Proven ability to work independently and manage a variable schedule
• Familiarity with diagnostic imaging protocols and patient safety standards
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Professional, punctual, and able to adapt to changing clinical needs

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (Associate degree or certificate preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of abdominal, vascular and obstetric/gynecologic sonography
• Proficient with Doppler techniques, sonographic anatomy and pathology recognition
• Comfortable using PACS and electronic medical records for image storage and reporting
• Excellent patient communication and positioning skills
• Attention to detail with consistent documentation and image labeling
• Ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and recognize when service is needed
