Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care for patients of all ages, assessing and treating a wide range of acute conditions
• Perform rapid triage and prioritize care in a fast-paced critical access ED
• Administer medications, treatments and interventions safely and document care in EPIC
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the ED team to coordinate patient care and transfers
• Use advanced assessment skills to recognize clinical deterioration and initiate appropriate escalation
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up plans with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department nursing experience treating all ages and varied presentations
• Active RN licensure appropriate for the state of practice
• Current BLS certification
• Current ACLS certification
• Current PALS certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems

Education

• Nursing degree (ADN or BSN) — BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in emergency situations
• Triage and rapid decision-making for pediatric and adult patients
• Experience working in a critical access hospital environment
• Comfort with high-acuity care, stabilization and coordination of transfers
• Clear clinical documentation and electronic charting (EPIC)
