Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate ADL assistance to residents, helping them maintain dignity and independence
- Perform patient bathing and personal care with respect and attention to comfort
- Prepare and set up meals, assisting residents who need help during dining
- Document care and resident status accurately in PointClickCare (PCC)
- Communicate effectively with RNs/LPNs and the care team to support continuity of care
- Float between two floors as needed to ensure consistent, high-quality resident care
- Support unit charge nurses and participate in shift handoffs to keep care seamless
Qualifications
- Active CNA certification (or eligibility) — certified for bedside care
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Minimum 1 year of CNA experience, preferably in Long-Term Care (LTC)
- Comfort and experience working night shifts (NOC)
- Familiarity with PointClickCare (PCC) is highly desirable
- Ability to float between units and adapt to changing resident needs
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on experience with ADLs, bathing and meal setup
- Strong documentation skills in electronic health records (PointClickCare)
- Knowledge of LTC workflows, resident safety and infection control
- Good communication and teamwork in a busy night-shift environment
- Ability to prioritize tasks and respond calmly in urgent situations
