Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead clinical teams on shift, providing direction, support, and real-time decision making
• Coordinate staffing and float coverage to ensure safe patient care across ER, ICU, and Med-Surg
• Provide clinical oversight during meal-period coverage and emergent situations
• Supervise patient flow, triage escalations, and resource allocation overnight
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain high standards of care and safety
• Document shift events and handoff critical information to incoming leaders

Qualifications

• Active California RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• NRP preferred
• Experience providing coverage/float in ER, ICU, and Med-Surg
• Previous supervisory or charge nurse experience preferred
• Proof of negative TB screening within 12 months of contract start date

Education

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required; specific degree (ADN/BSN) not specified

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical leadership and delegation skills
• Comfort with acute care environments and triage decision making
• Ability to float and adapt quickly between ER, ICU, and Med-Surg
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
• Proficient documentation and familiarity with hospital workflows
• Calm, decisive approach during emergencies and high-acuity situations
