Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT and X-ray imaging studies, following department protocols to ensure accurate diagnostics
- Verify orders and identify patients using two forms of ID while educating them about procedures and safety
- Maintain radiation safety (ALARA) practices and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate service when needed
- Document procedures accurately in the EHR and complete charging and record-keeping tasks
- Support fluoroscopy and C-arm procedures in the OR when required
- Assist with inventory management, stocking, and clerical duties to keep the department running smoothly
- Cross-train and mentor other imaging staff, contributing to a collaborative team environment
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and complete required annual training and certifications
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — or obtain within 90 days of hire
- Prior experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist preferred; cross-training in CT, MRI, DEXA, or Mammography a plus
- Experience with PACS, RIS/HIS, and electronic medical records
- Ability to work night shifts and be flexible with overtime, holiday, and on-call coverage
- Must be at least 18 years of age (21 for positions requiring driving) and legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Successful background check and pre-employment drug screen required
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong image acquisition skills across CT and X-ray modalities
- Fluoroscopy and C-arm experience for intraoperative support
- Familiarity with PACS, RIS/HIS, and EHR systems for image storage and documentation
- Equipment operation, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting skills
- Solid understanding of radiation safety principles (ALARA) and infection control
- Clear, compassionate patient communication and patient education abilities
- Ability to follow protocols, obtain informed consent, and manage clinical documentation accurately
- Team-oriented mindset with flexibility to assist across modalities
