Shift Type: Rotating day shifts (weekdays plus every other weekend and rotating holidays), 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, 72 hours bi-weekly
Hours per Week: 38
Candidate Pay Rate: $46 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adolescent through adult inmates, delivering compassionate, professional clinical support
- Work under RN or physician supervision to assess, treat, and monitor patient health in a correctional setting
- Administer medications, perform treatments, and document care accurately in health records
- Uphold facility policies, safety protocols, and the mission/values of the healthcare system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity
- Support triage and urgent assessments when needed, maintaining calm and clear communication
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Ohio — REQUIRED
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association — REQUIRED
- Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience preferred
- Experience in a correctional healthcare setting is a plus
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods and to assist with lifting (per job requirements)
- Clear background and ability to work in a secure correctional environment
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Practical Nurse (LPN) program or equivalent
- LPN diploma or vocational nursing certificate required
- Current Ohio LPN license and AHA BLS certification
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of LPN scope of practice and correctional healthcare workflows
- Medication administration and basic nursing procedures
- Patient assessment, wound care basics, and vital signs monitoring
- Accurate clinical documentation and electronic charting
- Strong communication and de-escalation skills for working in secure environments
- Infection control, universal precautions, and safety protocols
