Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, document, and evaluate individualized nursing care for patients in a correctional healthcare environment
• Follow provider orders and adhere to recognized nursing standards, techniques, and facility policies
• Maintain accurate, timely nursing documentation and care plans
• Monitor patient status and report changes to the clinical team to ensure safe, effective care
• Support safe patient movement and assist with lifting/pushing as required by patient needs and facility protocols
• Work collaboratively with correctional staff and clinical providers to balance security and patient care

Qualifications

• Active Ohio Registered Nurse (RN) license required (State of Ohio license only)
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association only
• One year of clinical nursing experience preferred
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time during shifts
• Ability to lift 250-300 pounds with assistance and push/pull up to 500 pounds with assistance
• Willingness to work a correctional healthcare setting and follow site-specific policies including weekend and holiday rotations

Education

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) — degree level not specified (active Ohio RN license required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Experience with correctional healthcare practices and security-conscious patient care
• Strong nursing documentation and care planning skills
• Clinical assessment and triage skills for acute and chronic conditions
• Familiarity with nursing standards of care and provider order implementation
• Good communication and teamwork skills in fast-paced, structured environments
