Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of a licensed PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Assist with patient evaluations, implement treatment plans, and document measurable progress
• Deliver therapeutic exercise, gait training, modalities, and functional task practice with safety and professionalism
• Educate patients and families on home programs, fall prevention, and functional strategies to support recovery
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient-centered care and improve outcomes
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility EMR and adhere to facility policies and compliance standards

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license in Texas or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtained promptly upon hire
• Comfortable working in an outpatient/rehab setting and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team
• Professional communication skills and a patient-centered approach

Education

• Associate's degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of therapeutic exercise, modalities, and gait training techniques
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Ability to set priorities, manage caseloads, and adapt treatment plans
• Good interpersonal skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Understanding of infection control, safety protocols, and quality improvement practices
