Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor adult med-surg patients, identifying changes and acting promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and document accurately
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on diagnosis, treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Escalate clinical concerns to providers and assist with care transitions
• Adhere to facility policies, infection control standards and safety protocols
• Support a positive patient experience by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (RN) in Nebraska or compact RN licensure where applicable
• Current BLS certification; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) preferred by some units
• Med-Surg nursing experience preferred
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen as required by the client
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to meet Regional West performance expectations (Low/Mid/High) — underperformance may result in contract termination

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid adult medical-surgical assessment and clinical judgment
• Medication administration and IV therapy competency
• Proficient vital signs and patient monitoring skills
• Patient/family education and discharge planning
• Reliable documentation practices and comfort with electronic health records
• Prioritization and time management on a busy med-surg floor
