Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Serve as the patient advocate throughout the surgical experience, ensuring safety and dignity
• Act as the circulator during procedures, coordinating supplies, equipment, and team communication
• Supervise and direct assigned personnel while collaborating with the Unit Nurse Manager or RN Team Leader
• Follow and uphold established standards of care, policies, and procedures for surgical patients
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely
• Float to other qualified departments as needed to support patient care and staffing

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Oregon, or eligibility to obtain it
• Perioperative nursing experience and comfort functioning as a circulator (surgical)
• Demonstrated ability to provide preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative patient care
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and float to other qualified units

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong perioperative knowledge including preop, intraop, and postop care
• Patient advocacy and clear communication skills with patients and surgical teams
• Ability to follow nursing process, standards of care, and hospital policies
• Team leadership and delegation when supervising support staff
• Flexibility to work across departments and adapt to variable clinical needs
