Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during weeknight 12-hour shifts
- Perform thorough assessments and timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
- Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocol
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
- Respond to emergencies and urgent changes in patient condition with calm, skilled action
- Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge needs, and follow-up
- Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact RN license
- Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
- Minimum clinical experience in acute care or related setting preferred
- Comfort and proven ability to work independently on night shift
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background checks
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid assessment and critical thinking skills for acute patient care
- Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced night shift environment
- Teamwork, adaptability, and a patient-first attitude
- Basic familiarity with emergency response protocols and code management
