Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered care during weeknight 12-hour shifts
• Perform thorough assessments and timely documentation to ensure continuity of care
• Administer medications and treatments safely and in accordance with protocol
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and update individualized care plans
• Respond to emergencies and urgent changes in patient condition with calm, skilled action
• Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge needs, and follow-up
• Support quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with facility standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred or willing to obtain
• Minimum clinical experience in acute care or related setting preferred
• Comfort and proven ability to work independently on night shift
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
• Up-to-date immunizations and ability to pass required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid assessment and critical thinking skills for acute patient care
• Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate documentation practices
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced night shift environment
• Teamwork, adaptability, and a patient-first attitude
• Basic familiarity with emergency response protocols and code management
