Roles & Responsibilities
- Administer IV medications and infusion therapies safely and compassionately while closely monitoring patient responses
- Perform port accesses and manage IV therapy procedures with precision
- Coordinate scheduling, clinical order review, and prior authorizations to keep clinic flow smooth
- Document thoroughly and promptly in the electronic health record, including medication and transfusion logs
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, ensuring understanding and comfort
- Communicate effectively with providers, payers, and multidisciplinary care teams to support continuity of care
- Contribute to operational workflows and quality improvement efforts to enhance the patient experience
Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved RN school of nursing
- BSN required
- Minimum of 2 years RN experience required
- Acute care experience (1 year) preferred
- Current Vermont or multi-state compact RN license
- Current BLS from the American Heart Association
- Infusion and port access experience required
- CRNI certification preferred
- FLU shot required for credentialing
Education
- Graduate of an accredited RN program
- BSN (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Infusion therapy and IV medication administration expertise
- Port access and maintenance skills
- Strong electronic health record documentation abilities
- Knowledge of transfusion documentation and medication safety
- Experience with scheduling, prior authorizations, and payer communications
- Excellent patient education and bedside communication skills
- Detail-oriented with strong clinical assessment and monitoring abilities
