Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care on an adult medical-surgical unit
• Assess patient condition, develop individualized care plans, and monitor progress
• Administer medications and treatments safely and according to protocol
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to optimize outcomes
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and discharge planning
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely
• Respond to changes in patient status and escalate concerns appropriately to ensure safety

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Nebraska license or compact multistate license preferred
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; ACLS preferred or available
• Prior experience or comfort working on an adult Med-Surg unit (travel nurse experience a plus)
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to pass facility credentialing and meet Regional West low/mid/high performance expectations

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — equivalent nursing education considered

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of adult medical-surgical nursing practices and patient care standards
• Medication administration and IV therapy skills
• Familiarity with electronic medical records and accurate clinical documentation
• Good communication and teamwork skills — clear, respectful, and patient-focused
• Ability to manage multiple patients safely while maintaining attention to detail
