Shift Type: 3 nights/week (varies) — 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM (Night); 12-hour night shifts, schedule includes every other weekend, no call required
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $60 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate medical-surgical nursing care during night shifts to adults and older adults
- Monitor telemetry and cardiac rhythms, taking timely, appropriate action when needed
- Assess patients frequently, recognize changes in condition, and escalate concerns to the care team
- Administer medications and IV therapies accurately and document in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, medications, discharge plans, and follow-up
- Contribute to unit quality improvement, safety initiatives, and evidence-based practice
Qualifications
- Active RN license (must be current and in good standing)
- Minimum previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience only — this role requires med-surg background
- Current ACLS certification required
- Current BLS/BCLS certification required
- Flu vaccine is mandated by the State of Maine
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Comfort and competence working night shifts and covering every other weekend
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong med-surg assessment skills and clinical judgment
- Telemetry monitoring and interpretation skills
- Proficient medication administration and IV therapy management
- Clear, compassionate patient and family communication
- Accurate electronic charting and documentation
- Teamwork, time management, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced setting
