Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert circulating and peri-procedural nursing care in the Cath Lab and flex into Interventional Radiology as required
- Perform and assist with TEE monitoring and cardioversion procedures with precision and calm under pressure
- Deliver comprehensive pre- and post-procedure patient assessments and education to promote optimal outcomes
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and the care team to ensure efficient, safe procedural workflows
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the medical record and communicate changes in patient status
- Participate in the on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent cases as needed
- Adhere to infection control, sterile technique, and ACLS protocols during interventions
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience with TEE and cardioversion procedures
- Proven experience in Cath Lab and Interventional Radiology (circulating, pre/post care) — required
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience preferred (2-3 years preferred as noted)
- Ability to live within ~20 minutes of the facility and within ~30 minutes for call response
- Proof of influenza vaccination (mandated by the State of Maine)
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in TEE monitoring and cardioversion support
- Strong knowledge of Cath Lab and IR equipment, supplies, and sterile field management
- Proficient in ACLS protocols and emergency response
- Excellent patient assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills
- Clear communication and teamwork in high-acuity procedural environments
- Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic health records
