Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care across preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases
• Serve as the patient's advocate during the surgical experience, ensuring safety and dignity
• Direct and supervise any assigned personnel while coordinating care with the surgical team
• Utilize the nursing process and established standards of care to deliver consistent outcomes
• Collaborate closely with the Unit Nurse Manager, House Supervisor, and RN Team Leader to support unit operations
• Adhere to policies and procedures while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oregon or eligibility to obtain state licensure
• Perioperative nursing experience or demonstrated competence as an RN Circulator
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; perioperative certifications preferred
• Comfort supervising assigned staff and communicating with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to follow policy and procedure and act as a strong patient advocate
• Professional, reliable, and able to work flexible day shift assignments

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN) — nursing degree required

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing knowledge including preop, intraop, and postop workflows
• Surgical patient care and instrumentation awareness
• Strong patient advocacy and clinical assessment skills
• Familiarity with nursing process, documentation, and standards of care
• Effective communication and collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and unit leadership
• Ability to supervise personnel and support unit flow
