Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct speech and language evaluations and interpret results to inform individualized plans
• Develop and deliver engaging, evidence-based therapy plans tailored to each student
• Write clear, timely progress reports and contribute to IEP development and meetings
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom
• Monitor student progress using data-driven methods and adjust treatment as needed
• Provide guidance on augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) strategies when appropriate
• Support transition planning and communication goals across school settings

Qualifications

• Valid Washington State SLP license or ability to obtain state licensure
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred or working toward
• Experience or strong interest in school-based pediatric caseloads and IEP processes
• Clear background check and ability to meet district onboarding requirements
• Availability for a 25-week assignment from 2025-12-29 through 2026-06-16

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology (or Communication Sciences and Disorders)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in pediatric assessment and individualized treatment planning
• Experience with IEP development, progress monitoring, and special education collaboration
• Familiarity with AAC devices and strategies for nonverbal or minimally verbal students
• Strong communication skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfortable using data to drive decisions and demonstrate student progress
• Knowledge of language disorders, articulation/phonology, fluency, and social communication
