Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing team
• Assist with safe transfers and mobility support, using approved body mechanics and lifting aids
• Support feeding and nutrition needs, including meal set-up and documentation of intake
• Maintain a clean, safe environment by following infection control and safety procedures
• Document care thoroughly and clearly in resident charts and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
• Build trusting relationships with residents and families by delivering respectful, person-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• Active CNA certification valid for Pennsylvania (or compact/state reciprocity where applicable)
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willing to obtain
• Ability to pass background checks and meet facility onboarding requirements
• Dependable, compassionate approach with strong teamwork and communication skills

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential required

Knowledge & Skills

• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and personal care tasks
• Basic vital sign measurement and recognition of clinical change
• Solid understanding of infection control practices and PPE use
• Clear, professional documentation and effective handoff communication
• Ability to work in fast-paced long-term care or rehabilitation settings
• Team player attitude and strong interpersonal skills with residents and families
