Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on care to residents and patients with dignity and respect
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting, feeding) to keep patients comfortable
• Monitor and record vital signs, promptly reporting changes to nursing staff
• Support safe mobility and fall prevention through attentive assistance and observation
• Document care accurately in charts and electronic systems to ensure clear communication
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and follow infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
• State authorization to practice as a CNA in Pennsylvania or ability to obtain (preferred)
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and working independently during night shifts
• Strong communication skills and a patient-centered attitude
• Previous experience in long-term care, skilled nursing, or similar settings is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of an approved CNA training program (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident-centered care principles and safety practices
• Skill in taking and recording vital signs and observing clinical changes
• Familiarity with documentation best practices and basic charting
• Ability to perform safe patient transfers and use assistive equipment
• Teamwork, time management, and the ability to prioritize during busy shifts
• Basic infection control and hygiene practices
