Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living like bathing, dressing, and mobility
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report changes to the nursing team
• Assist with feeding, repositioning, and toileting while maintaining dignity and respect
• Document care provided clearly and promptly in resident charts and communicate important updates during shift handoff
• Support a safe environment by following infection control and safety protocols
• Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary team members to ensure resident needs are met

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credential — required
• State CNA certification in Pennsylvania or eligibility to obtain state certification
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Ability to pass background check, TB screening, and required immunizations
• Good communication skills, compassion, and the ability to work as part of a team
• Prior experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is a plus but not always required

Education

• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of resident care practices and activities of daily living
• Comfortable with charting and basic documentation
• Strong observation skills for changes in condition and clear communication with clinical staff
• Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
• Ability to perform safe patient transfers and assistive mobility techniques
• Time management and the ability to prioritize resident needs
