Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
• Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes promptly
• Support safe transfers, mobility and fall-prevention practices for each resident
• Assist nursing staff with routine treatments and follow individualized care plans
• Maintain clean, safe and comfortable resident environments
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with residents, families and the care team
• Document care, observations and incidents in the patient record following facility protocols
• Participate in shift handoffs to ensure continuity of care and resident safety

Qualifications

• Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification (required)
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred or ability to obtain quickly
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening and facility onboarding
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Comfortable with physical aspects of the role including lifting and assisting residents

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a state-approved CNA training program and certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Hands-on resident care and ADL assistance
• Accurate vital signs measurement and documentation
• Basic infection control and safety practices
• Familiarity with electronic or paper charting
• Empathy, patience and effective communication with residents and families
• Ability to follow care plans and take direction from nursing staff
