Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide evidence-based individual and group therapy for patients with mental health and substance use concerns
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and develop individualized treatment plans
- Deliver crisis intervention and de-escalation when patients are in acute need
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to coordinate care and ensure continuity
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and progress notes
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
- Support program development and implementation of best practices in behavioral health
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist (PSY) in California or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) — candidates with LPCC credential are welcome
- Active, unrestricted California license (PSY, LMFT, or LPCC) required
- Experience working in mental health and substance abuse treatment settings preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and therapy skills with familiarity in evidence-based interventions
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Doctoral degree (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) for Psychologist; Master's degree for LMFT or LPCC in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in individual and group psychotherapy techniques
- Experience with substance abuse treatment approaches and relapse prevention
- Competence in crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Familiarity with documentation standards and electronic health records
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
- Trauma-informed care and motivational interviewing experience are a plus
