Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and standardized testing to inform care plans
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions
• Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on psychiatric needs and rehabilitation
• Perform crisis assessment and intervention to maintain safety and stability
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatry, nursing, and social work to coordinate care
• Document clinical encounters and progress notes accurately and timely to meet regulatory standards
• Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
• Provide clinical supervision or mentorship when appropriate and contribute to training activities

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; license-eligible candidates may be considered per facility policy
• Active California psychologist license preferred or ability to obtain state licensure
• Experience working in mental health or psychiatric settings is highly desirable; correctional or forensic experience a plus
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills with proven documentation practices
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to work in a structured clinical environment
• Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements

Education

• Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches
• Proficient with psychological assessment tools and interpretation of results
• Strong risk assessment and crisis management capabilities
• Familiarity with behavioral health documentation standards and confidentiality regulations
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
• Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse patient populations
