Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments and standardized testing to inform care plans
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions
- Deliver individual and group therapy sessions focused on psychiatric needs and rehabilitation
- Perform crisis assessment and intervention to maintain safety and stability
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatry, nursing, and social work to coordinate care
- Document clinical encounters and progress notes accurately and timely to meet regulatory standards
- Participate in treatment team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives
- Provide clinical supervision or mentorship when appropriate and contribute to training activities
Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; license-eligible candidates may be considered per facility policy
- Active California psychologist license preferred or ability to obtain state licensure
- Experience working in mental health or psychiatric settings is highly desirable; correctional or forensic experience a plus
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and therapeutic skills with proven documentation practices
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and ability to work in a structured clinical environment
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet facility credentialing requirements
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in evidence-based therapies such as CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches
- Proficient with psychological assessment tools and interpretation of results
- Strong risk assessment and crisis management capabilities
- Familiarity with behavioral health documentation standards and confidentiality regulations
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse patient populations
