Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations to inform treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy grounded in evidence-based approaches
- Develop and document treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries with clarity
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safety
- Perform risk assessments and crisis intervention when needed to maintain a therapeutic environment
- Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and staff training activities
- Maintain strict confidentiality and follow all facility security and reporting protocols
Qualifications
- Licensed Psychologist in California preferred, or license-eligible and working toward licensure
- Experience in mental health settings; correctional or forensic experience is a strong plus
- Demonstrated competence in individual and group therapy and psychological assessment
- Ability to pass background checks and facility-specific security clearance
- Strong documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with cultural sensitivity and respect for diverse populations
Education
- Doctoral degree in Psychology (PhD or PsyD) preferred; Master's in Psychology or related field may be considered per facility requirements
- State licensure requirements must be met or in progress
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in evidence-based therapies such as CBT and trauma-informed approaches
- Proficient in psychological assessment tools and diagnostic formulation
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Strong clinical documentation and time management
- Ability to work effectively in a secure correctional environment
- Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care
