Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough psychological assessments and substance abuse evaluations
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery
- Provide individual and group therapy focused on mental health and substance use disorders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure safety
- Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and treatment records
- Participate in case reviews, treatment planning meetings, and quality improvement efforts
- Offer crisis intervention and stabilization as needed in a secure facility setting
Qualifications
- Active California license as a Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC)
- Experience working with mental health and substance abuse populations preferred
- Comfortable and professional working in a correctional/substance abuse treatment facility
- Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility onboarding
Education
- Doctoral degree (PhD/PsyD) in Psychology preferred for Licensed Psychologist roles
- Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or Marriage and Family Therapy acceptable for LMFT/LPCC clinicians
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and mental health interventions
- Group therapy and individual counseling experience
- Risk assessment, crisis intervention, and de-escalation skills
- Proficient clinical documentation and electronic health record use
- Collaborative communication with care teams and facility staff
