Roles & Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations for incarcerated adults
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and evidence-based interventions
- Provide individual and group therapy focused on behavioral health, coping skills, and rehabilitation
- Perform crisis intervention and coordinate care with custody and medical teams when needed
- Document clinical encounters clearly and timely to meet regulatory and facility standards
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to support continuity of care and safety within the facility
- Participate in case consultations and contribute to program development aimed at improving outcomes
Qualifications
- Active licensure as a Psychologist (PSYL), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
- Experience or interest in correctional mental health or working with forensic populations preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, therapy, and documentation skills
- Ability to pass facility required background checks and comply with correctional policies
- Comfort working collaboratively with custody and medical staff in a secure environment
Knowledge & Skills
- Evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and assessment techniques
- Clinical documentation, treatment planning, and progress note best practices
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment
- Understanding of correctional health system operations and safety protocols
- Strong communication, teamwork, and cultural competence
