Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 1:45 PM - 10:15 PM (Evening, non-overnight) with a one-week orientation Monday-Friday 5:45 AM - 2:15 PM

Candidate Pay Rate: $53 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care to individuals in a correctional psychiatric setting
- Monitor and document patient behavior, responses, and progress accurately and promptly
- Implement care plans and follow treatment protocols under clinical supervision
- Use de-escalation and crisis-intervention techniques to maintain a safe environment
- Administer routine checks and report changes to the multidisciplinary team
- Assist with activities of daily living and therapeutic programming as directed
- Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate effectively with custody and clinical staff
- Participate in orientation, ongoing training, and team meetings to support continuous improvement
Qualifications
- Current Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) credential in California (required)
- Completion of an approved psychiatric technician training program or equivalent
- Current CPR/Basic Life Support certification preferred or obtainable upon hire
- Ability to pass background checks and meet correctional facility clearance requirements
- Comfortable working in a secure correctional environment and collaborating with custody staff
- Strong observation, documentation, and interpersonal skills
- Reliable attendance and commitment to the scheduled evening shift
Education
- Completion of a Licensed Psychiatric Technician program or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED
Knowledge & Skills
- Behavioral observation and mental health symptom recognition
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting
- Ability to follow care plans and clinical protocols
- Effective communication with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Familiarity with safety procedures in a correctional healthcare setting
