Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting) to support resident dignity
• Take and record vital signs accurately and communicate changes to nursing staff
• Support safe transfers and mobility, following proper body mechanics
• Assist with meal service and monitor intake, reporting concerns promptly
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in resident charts and care logs
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to a safe care environment
• Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure each resident's care plan is honored
• Build positive relationships with residents and families to enhance quality of life

Qualifications

• Active GNA certification (or equivalent) valid in Maryland
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current BLS/CPR certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
• Ability to pass background checks, TB screening, and immunization requirements
• Comfort working with geriatric/long-term care populations and a caring attitude
• Reliable transportation and on-time attendance for scheduled shifts
• Previous long-term care or assisted living experience is a plus

Education

• High school diploma or GED; GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in safe patient handling and mobility assistance
• Knowledge of ADLs and basic resident care practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Able to observe, document, and report clinical changes accurately
• Familiarity with infection prevention protocols and PPE use
• Basic charting and time-management skills during shifts
