Roles & Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding
Provide safe transfers and mobility assistance while using proper body mechanics
Take and report vital signs and observe changes in resident condition
Maintain clear, timely documentation and communicate with nursing staff
Support a positive, respectful environment that preserves resident dignity
Follow infection control practices and facility policies to keep everyone safe
Collaborate with the care team to deliver person-centered care

Qualifications

Active GNA certification required (or state equivalent)
CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
High school diploma or GED preferred
Background check, TB screening, and immunizations as required by facility
Previous experience in long-term care or rehab settings helpful but new GNAs are welcome
Reliable transportation and ability to work the scheduled shift

Education

High school diploma or GED preferred
Completion of an approved GNA program and active GNA certification

Knowledge & Skills

Comfortable assisting with ADLs and resident mobility
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Basic vital signs knowledge and observation skills
Empathy, patience, and a resident-first mindset
Good documentation habits and attention to detail
Ability to follow care plans and directions from nursing staff
