Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents according to individualized care plans
• Administer medications and monitor responses safely and accurately
• Perform routine assessments and document changes in condition clearly in the patient record
• Assist with activities of daily living and promote resident independence and dignity
• Collaborate with RNs, therapists and the interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated care
• Maintain infection control standards and ensure a safe environment for residents and staff
• Communicate effectively with families and caregivers to support person-centered care

Qualifications

• Valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license — must be eligible to practice in Maine
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Comfortable working 12+ hour day shifts and managing medication administration
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; adaptability in a travel/contract setting
• Previous long-term care or skilled nursing experience is a plus but not mandatory
• Up-to-date immunizations and any facility-required health screenings

Education

• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program (LPN diploma or certificate)

Knowledge & Skills

• Medication administration and accurate medication documentation
• Vital signs monitoring and basic clinical assessments
• Familiarity with electronic health records and charting best practices
• Infection prevention and resident safety protocols
• Time management, prioritization, and the ability to work independently when needed
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
