Roles & Responsibilities

Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders to improve communication and safe swallowing
Perform direct patient care including evaluations, treatment sessions, and progress monitoring
Create and maintain accurate patient documentation: initial evaluations, plans of care, progress notes, and discharge summaries
Collaborate with nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service staff to coordinate patient-centered care
Provide education to staff and families, including in-service presentations and evidence-based recommendations
Contact insurance providers to verify benefits and assist patients with insurance navigation
Maintain clean, safe treatment environments and provide reminder calls as needed

Qualifications

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program (professional degree required)
Eligible for and must obtain/maintain a Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathologist license
Current BLS certification required and must be maintained
Valid driver's license required
1+ years of related experience preferred; hospital experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail, excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Education

Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (accredited program)

Knowledge & Skills

Assess and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders
Develop treatment plans and document patient care clearly
Evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration
Intermediate computer proficiency for charting and documentation
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
