Roles & Responsibilities

• Train and support all users of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) and ancillary clinical systems using classroom, one-on-one, remote shadowing, and web conferencing methods
• Configure and optimize clinical content and decision support in partnership with medical staff across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Develop clear, usable training materials and documentation to empower clinicians and staff
• Triage user issues and coordinate resolution with Help Desk, IT teams, vendors, and clinical subject matter experts
• Update application content (lab/radiology tests, medications, immunizations, diagnosis/procedure codes) to keep the system current
• Continuously assess clinical workflows and recommend improvements aligned with best practices
• Collaborate with IT, clinical teams, and vendors to ensure smooth implementations and ongoing system stability
• Participate in accreditation-related processes and support hospital/clinic compliance activities
• Be available to support implementations and critical issues which may require long hours to meet project deadlines

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alaska or another U.S. state (Agency staff must have active Alaska license; Direct Hire must have applied for Alaska license before start date)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Minimum 5 years' work experience in a medical setting (clinical experience preferred)
• Minimum 2 years' experience with clinical information systems
• Minimum 1 year' experience with computer technology (programming, installation, reporting, or hardware/network experience)
• Teaching or training experience preferred
• Clinical informatics training preferred
• Experience with HL7 messaging preferred
• Ability to travel up to ~10% of the time by jet, small aircraft, or ferry

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• BSN preferred
• Advanced degree(s) may substitute for minimum experience on a year-by-year basis

Knowledge & Skills

• Proven knowledge of Electronic Health Record systems and clinical workflows
• Familiarity with clinical decision support and clinical content configuration
• Understanding of scheduling, radiology, laboratory, and document scanning systems
• Working knowledge of clinical standards of care for outpatient and inpatient settings
• Experience with HL7 messaging and ancillary system integrations
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
• Problem-solving, good judgment, and ability to prioritize tasks across multiple sites
• Comfort working independently and collaboratively across a geographically dispersed organization
