Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality respiratory care and treatments to patients across acuity levels
• Assess respiratory status and develop or implement treatment plans to improve patient outcomes
• Manage ventilators, airway support, oxygen therapy, and other respiratory devices safely and effectively
• Collaborate closely with nurses, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response clearly and timely in the medical record
• Maintain and troubleshoot respiratory equipment and adhere to infection control and safety protocols
• Support patient and family education about respiratory conditions and home care as needed

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Respiratory Therapist, comfortable in acute care night-shift settings
• Current or eligible respiratory therapy license for Colorado (confirm licensing requirements with recruiter)
• Comfort with 12-hour night shifts and the stamina to provide consistent, patient-centered care
• Ability to complete facility credentialing, background checks, and orientation prior to start
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of respiratory therapy practices and patient assessment
• Familiarity with ventilator management and airway support techniques
• Skill in oxygen therapy, nebulized treatments, and pulmonary hygiene
• Competence in clinical documentation and following facility protocols
• Ability to prioritize tasks during high-acuity situations and work well under pressure
