Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-acuity nursing care for trauma, spinal, neuro and surgical patients with skill and compassion
• Perform timely, accurate EPIC documentation to keep the care team coordinated
• Respond quickly and effectively to emergent situations including gunshot and spinal cord injury cases
• Collaborate with surgeons, neuro teams and rehabilitation specialists to optimize patient outcomes
• Educate patients and families on care plans, discharge needs and ongoing support
• Maintain required certifications and complete skills checklists and unit-specific competencies
• Support safe patient handling and care for quads, paraplegic patients and other mobility-limited populations
• Contribute to unit quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Qualifications

• Active RN license with Nursys verification (Nursys license verification is required)
• Minimum 2 years of specialty experience in trauma, surgical or neuro nursing
• BLS required, ACLS preferred
• EPIC experience required — please note on your profile

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong trauma and surgical nursing knowledge, including spinal and neuro patient care
• High-acuity patient assessment and critical thinking skills
• Proficient EPIC documentation and electronic charting skills
• Effective communication and teamwork in multidisciplinary environments
• Familiarity with post-operative care, wound management and complex mobility needs
• Ability to function calmly during codes and acute events
