Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and interpret telemetry and patient observation data to keep patients safe and stable
• Deliver compassionate, bedside nursing care on a 36-bed med-surg telemetry unit
• Document patient assessments, interventions and changes using Cerner Patient Observation (CPO)
• Prepare patients for procedures such as Endoscopy, IR and OR with clear communication and clinical readiness
• Collaborate with nursing leadership and multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Float to sister med-surg units as needed while maintaining high standards of care
• Support unit goals by adhering to policies, contributing to a positive team culture, and participating in required weekend coverage

Qualifications

• Active RN licensure appropriate for practice (state licensure or compact where applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience (telemetry/med-surg experience highly valued)
• BLS certification (required)
• Medical telemetry experience (required)
• CMSRN encouraged — preferred but not required
• Leadership or charge nurse experience is a plus
• BSN preferred

Education

• BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring skills and comfort with remote telemetry systems
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records and patient observation workflows
• Proficient in patient monitoring equipment such as VC150 units
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking and prioritization skills
• Clear communication, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Flexible approach to floating across med-surge units and handling changing patient acuity
