Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care for surgical patients, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the surgical journey
• Prepare and maintain a sterile field and ensure surgical instrumentation and supplies are ready
• Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the OR team for smooth case flow
• Monitor patient status and vital signs, responding promptly to any changes
• Administer medications and assist with anesthesia-related tasks per protocol
• Document care, handoffs, and surgical counts accurately and thoroughly
• Participate in pre-op and post-op patient education and discharge planning as needed

Qualifications

• Active RN license (verifiable via Nursys) — must be current and in good standing
• Minimum 2+ years recent Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS (current)
• DCI/BVP certification as listed in requirements
• Successful completion of Prime exams/checklists and skills verification as required
• Ability to pass background checks, a minimum 10-panel drug screen, fit testing, and required immunizations

Knowledge & Skills

• Perioperative nursing principles and sterile technique
• Familiarity with surgical procedures and instrumentation
• Rhythm interpretation and basic pharmacology knowledge
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Proven ability to follow Prime core competencies and specialty checklists
• Clear, calm communication and teamwork in high-pressure settings
• Accurate documentation and use of electronic health records
• Adherence to infection control, TB, vaccine, and fit-test requirements
