Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-acuity, telemetry-focused care to Progressive Care Unit patients with compassion and clinical excellence
• Continuously monitor cardiac telemetry and perform/interpret EKGs (must pass the facility EKG exam)
• Respond rapidly to patient changes and initiate ACLS/BLS protocols as needed
• Document patient care accurately and efficiently in Epic to ensure continuity and safety
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-focused plans of care
• Float within scope to like units as needed to meet facility staffing demands
• Maintain safe patient ratios (typically 1:4–1:5) and prioritize patient safety throughout your shift
• Support quality initiatives and contribute to a positive, learning-focused unit culture

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care/PCU/telemetry nursing experience preferred
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• Must pass facility EKG exam — no exceptions
• Comfortable working 12-hour night shifts and every-other-weekend coverage
• Able and willing to float to like units within scope when requested
• First-time travel nurses welcome — orientation and interview availability requested at submission

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN) or equivalent

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
• Proficient charting in Epic (electronic medical record)
• Skilled in performing and interpreting EKGs
• Solid ACLS and BLS emergency response abilities
• Familiarity with PCU patient populations and progressive care workflows
• Good clinical judgment, prioritization, and time management on 12-hour shifts
• Team-player communication and collaboration with interdisciplinary staff
