Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
• Continuously assess and monitor patient status, intervening promptly as conditions change
• Administer medications, manage ventilators and advanced therapies per protocol
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams — physicians, respiratory therapists, and families — to create individualized care plans
• Document clinical care accurately and communicate handoffs clearly to ensure continuity
• Educate and support families during stressful situations with professionalism and empathy

Qualifications

• Active RN license in California (must be able to practice in CA)
• Experience or training in Pediatric Intensive Care (PICU) — hands-on comfort with critically ill children
• Current BLS and PALS certifications (or willingness to obtain during orientation)
• Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach
• Ability to pass facility onboarding and required background checks

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• BSN preferred where available; relevant pediatric critical care training is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Familiarity with pediatric assessment and advanced critical care interventions
• Proficient in medication administration, IV/central line management and vasoactive drips
• Comfort with ventilator management and monitoring of respiratory support
• Skilled in accurate charting and effective clinical handoffs
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team and support families
• Strong situational awareness and crisis management skills
