Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality bedside care to critically ill pediatric patients
Continuously assess patient condition and respond quickly to changes
Manage advanced life support equipment and coordinate complex clinical interventions
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists and the care team to deliver safe care
Educate and support families during care and discharge planning
Accurately document assessments, interventions and patient responses in the medical record
Participate in orientation and ongoing unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes

Qualifications

Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California or compact-state equivalent
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
Basic Life Support (BLS) required
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Prior pediatric or PICU clinical experience preferred
Ability to pass required background checks and comply with facility onboarding

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong pediatric critical care assessment and clinical judgment
Experience with ventilator management and monitoring of advanced life support
Familiarity with vasoactive medication titration and infusion pump management
Skilled in family-centered communication during high-stress situations
Accurate electronic medical record documentation and care coordination
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and during emergencies
