Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
Continuously monitor, assess, and document patient status and responses to treatment
Administer medications, manage infusions and ventilator support as needed
Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
Respond rapidly to emergencies and participate in codes and critical events
Engage families with clear communication, education, and compassionate support
Participate in orientation and precepting to help onboard new staff and support a strong team culture

Qualifications

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) required or strongly preferred
Familiarity with pediatric critical care practices and equipment
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced ICU environment
Able to complete required background checks and facility onboarding

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of pediatric airway and ventilator management
Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and vasoactive medication management
Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Skilled in pediatric assessment, dosing, and pediatric-specific protocols
Excellent teamwork, critical thinking, and family-centered communication skills
