Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality critical care to pediatric patients in the PICU
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor and interpret complex patient data, making timely clinical decisions
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with families during stressful times
- Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in California
- Recent PICU experience or strong pediatric critical care background
- BLS required; PALS and/or ACLS highly preferred
- Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and teamwork mindset
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN); BSN preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid knowledge of pediatric critical care principles and PICU protocols
- Skill with advanced monitoring equipment and interpretation of hemodynamic data
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple high-acuity patients
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation best practices
- Compassionate family-centered care and effective communication under pressure
