Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, family-centered critical care to pediatric intensive care patients
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, invasive lines, and ventilator parameters
• Administer medications and therapies safely and accurately, including titratable infusions
• Respond quickly and effectively to clinical emergencies and code situations
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with families, keeping them informed and involved
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress thoroughly and professionally
• Participate actively in orientation and ongoing education to maintain competence

Qualifications

• Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS and PALS certifications (current) required or must obtain upon hire
• Experience in Pediatric ICU or pediatric critical care nursing preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN/BSN); BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Pediatric critical care principles and family-centered care
• Ventilator management and respiratory support for pediatric patients
• Hemodynamic monitoring and management of vasoactive infusions
• Pediatric medication dosing and safe administration practices
• Skilled IV/central line care and blood sample collection
• Accurate clinical documentation and effective interdisciplinary communication
