Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, family-centered critical care for pediatric patients in the PICU
Perform timely assessments, monitor patient status, and respond to changes in condition
Administer medications and IV therapies safely and accurately according to protocols
Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and the care team to deliver coordinated care
Educate and support families during stressful and complex care situations
Document care thoroughly and communicate handoffs clearly to ensure continuity

Qualifications

Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Pediatric ICU (PICU) experience preferred; new grads with strong pediatric clinical experience may be considered
Current BLS and PALS certifications required; ACLS preferred
Comfort with critical care interventions, monitoring, and emergency response
Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively on an interdisciplinary team

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Pediatric critical care assessment and prioritization
Ventilator management and respiratory support basics
IV medication administration and titration for critically ill children
Familiarity with infection control best practices and safety protocols
Excellent clinical judgment, situational awareness, and quick decision-making
Proficient charting and documentation in electronic health records
