Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a fast-paced PCU
• Monitor and titrate cardiac and seizure medications with precision
• Collaborate with charge nurses and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal outcomes
• Float to medical floors, ICU, or rehab as needed, showcasing your versatility
• Utilize critical thinking to manage complex conditions like strokes, nephrology issues, and continuous EEG monitoring
• Maintain a positive attitude and strong communication to support teammates and patients

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nebraska or compact state (NLC preferred)
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications current upon start
• At least 1 year of recent PCU or step-down experience
• Ability to pass an open-book exam during orientation (90% required)
• Valid driver's license to verify 50-mile radius compliance
• No artificial nails in patient care areas

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Proficiency in titrating drips such as Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure meds
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and stroke care
• Adaptability to float across various units
